Yangshuo Weather

Yangshuo is a fantastic destination to visit year-round however the weather will definitely have an influence on your experience whether it be the hot, sticky summers or the cool drizzly winters.

Spring

The weather in Yangshuo usually starts to warm up at the beginning of March, with spring often lasting through until the early of May.

You will get some wonderful warm, clear skies during this time and it is also a time where the countryside really comes alive bursting into a kaleidoscope of vivid greens.

As at any time of year in Yangshuo, there are rainy days in spring. The resulting mists that linger amongst the karsts can give you a totally different impression of the magical landscape.

Summer

Summers are hot, hot, hot, with very high humidity. The countryside is still extraordinarily beautiful so getting out and exploring is a must.

The temperature can easily reach 38 degrees celsius (100 degrees Fahrenheit) so a little care is required. Plan your days well and take advantage of the cooler mornings. You will also gain a new appreciation for Magnolia Hotel's air-conditioned rooms.

Thunder storms and short periods of heavy rain are common throughout the summer months. Sparkling blue skies throughout the day can quickly succumb to storm clouds which burst to give a touch of heat-relief and then clear as quickly as they appeared.

Autumn

Autumn is a time of sheer weather delight in Yangshuo. The high humidity usually fades in late September leaving wonderful bright, sunny, warm days which are simply perfect. Rain is least common during this time.

The beautiful clear days of Autumn often last through until mid – late December and so if you are looking for the best weather to travel in Yangshuo then this is the season. With the reduced amount of rain the countryside isn't as luscious as spring or summer but still remains quite stunning.

Evenings often become chilly, so if traveling at this time be prepared with a sweater or similar.

Winter

The winter months of January and February can be day after day of dreary drizzle, however this can often be mixed in with a gorgeous day here and there just to make you remember how spectacular the surrounds truly are.

Rain

With a sub-tropical monsoonal climate and an average annual rainfall of nearly 2,000 millimetres (80 inches), rain is a common occurrence in Yangshuo. It can rain at any time of year.

The wettest months are May and June, this is also the time when local flooding is most likely to occur. Yangshuo is well prepared to deal with the level of rain it receives and any instances of flooding are usually over within 24 hours. Impact on activities and visitors is usually very minimal, if at all.
